  1. Edit When organizing your bathroom, make sure you're only keeping what you will realistically use, need, and love. I like to encourage clients to find a routine of products that they love and stick with it. This means don't let those cute little samples or travel products start adding up ;) You know what works for you so keep it simple!

  2. Check Expiration Dates One thing most people don't think about is checking expiration dates on beauty products. Products expire or loose potency over time so be sure to toss anything expired. The hard part is that a lot of products, like makeup, don't usually come with an expiration date. Try labeling the product on day of purchase with tape or permanent marker and keep a list of how long each product lasts that you can refer to. For example, Eyeliner: 6 months - 1 year, Mascara 3-6 months, Lipstick 2 years

  3. Use Vertical Space Under the sink is usually the most frustrating area in the bathroom. This is usually because the vertical space isn't being utilized properly or at all. Use systems like drawers  to maximize this area and keep bulky items, like a dopp kit  or toilet paper either on top or in the middle.

  4. Get Creative Still not enough space for everything in your bathroom? Make sure you're taking every area into consideration. Is there space under your cabinet or on top of your toilet for baskets ? Is there an area that you can put a cabinet or shelving unit? Is there proper wall space to hang shelves ? If you keep perfumes in the bathroom, try displaying them on shelves instead of having them tucked away to save on cabinet space and over the door hooks  for hanging towels/robes is a must.

  5. Behind the Mirror If you have behind the mirror space, the only items you should keep here are your everyday or every other day used items - nothing else! This will keep your behind the mirror space breathing and avoid items falling out every time you open it ;) Good examples of items that should live here: toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, retainer, deodorant, contacts, glasses, nail clippers, tweezers, morning routine facial items, nighttime routine facial items. Use dividers  or small containers to keep certain items contained and don't be afraid to adjust the shelves!
