TRAVEL: 6 Amazing Manhattan Bookstores For A Quick Escape

New York City moves at about 90 miles per hour. People are always in a rush to go somewhere, get something, meet someone, or make it big somehow. When all that craziness is packed into a tiny island like Manhattan, it's easy to get overwhelmed.

When I need a quick getaway, I like to hide out at one of the city's amazing bookstores. There's just something comforting about the peace that only comes in one of these shops. From the smell of old-fashioned print novels to the quiet atmosphere, these neighborhood boutiques provide the perfect escape from the city's craziness. Here are six of my favorite literary haunts in Manhattan.
